Activity 1:
Science: Make bubbles
Materials: bowl, soap, straw
Beginning: Tell your child that today we will blow bubbles using straw. Let your child help you to pour soap and water in a bowl. Talk about safety rules; not to drink that water.
Middle: Before experimenting, demonstrate how to blow. Blow your finger and say, “It’s like blowing a candle”. Give vocabulary: deep breath, few, several, blow
End: Imitate your child and describe different sizes of bubbles. Let your child predict what might happen if you add too much water or soap. You may have a bowl for yourself. Give 3 minutes warning.
Duration: 10 minutes Extension: Your child may add food color with soap and water to see colored bubbles.
Brain Break activity:
Activity 2:
Creative Art / Fine motor skills: Cut lines and paste
Materials: 2 A4 size papers, pencil/marker, scissors, glue
Beginning: Draw straight lines and let your child cut on the lines using scissors.
Middle: Your child may rip and cut. You may talk and demonstrate the use of scissors. Give vocabulary: cut, open, close, hold
End: 3 minutes warning. Give them paper and glue to paste the lines or pieces that he/she cut.
Duration: 15 minutes
